Commercial lighting jobs range from a single tenancy refresh to a full warehouse upgrade. Our work includes:

Getting the lighting right for the task
Lighting that works in a showroom is wrong for a warehouse, and office lighting that looks great on a render can cause glare on every screen. Before we price a job we look at what happens in the space: desk work, stock picking, food preparation, display or simply moving through. We consider fitting type, mounting height, spacing, colour temperature and glare control, and whether the client or designer has a lighting design we should follow.
For offices, even, low-glare light with a neutral colour temperature tends to work best. Retail usually needs a mix of general lighting and accent lighting to show product. Warehouses need enough light on the racking faces, not just the floor, and fittings that suit the ceiling height. Where there is a lighting design or specification from a consultant, we install to it and raise any clashes with services early.
LED upgrades for existing buildings
Many commercial buildings on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane still run fluorescent troffers, metal halide high bays or older halogen downlights. Replacing them with LED usually cuts energy use and maintenance, since LED fittings run cooler and last far longer between replacements. It also removes a steady stream of failed tubes, starters and ballasts from the maintenance list.
An LED upgrade is also the right time to fix switching. Lights that are all on one switch, or left on overnight because nobody knows where the switch is, can be rearranged into sensible zones with occupancy sensors or timers. Lighting controls
Controls are often where the biggest gains in a lighting upgrade come from. Options range from simple motion sensors in amenities and storerooms, to daylight sensors that dim fittings near windows, to programmable systems that schedule lighting across a whole building. For warehouses, sensor-controlled high bays that dim or switch off in unused aisles are a common and practical choice.
We keep controls as simple as the site allows. A system the facility manager understands and can adjust is better than a complex one nobody touches after handover. We label everything and leave clear instructions.
Emergency lighting and compliance
Every commercial lighting job has to consider emergency and exit lighting. Moving walls, changing ceilings or replacing fittings can leave areas without the required coverage. We check emergency lighting as part of any lighting work and make sure it complies with AS/NZS 2293. Where required, we can take over routine testing and log books through our emergency and exit lighting service.
All lighting installation is carried out to AS/NZS 3000, and we issue compliance certificates when the work is complete.
External, car park and security lighting
External lighting takes a beating on the coast. Salt air, humidity and storms are hard on fittings, fixings and junction boxes, so we choose fittings with suitable ingress protection and corrosion resistance for the location and seal connections properly. Car park and pathway lighting needs to give even coverage without light spill into neighbouring properties, and it often doubles as security lighting. Good external lighting also makes CCTV footage far more useful. Our security and access control team can look at both together.
Working in occupied buildings and pricing
Most lighting upgrades happen in buildings that are open for business. We plan the work in zones, work early or after hours where needed, and keep walkways clear and dust down. Old fittings and tubes are removed from site and disposed of properly. Stefan runs the jobs himself, so there is one point of contact from quote to handover.

Cost depends on the number and type of fittings, ceiling type and height, access equipment needed for high bays or external lighting, the controls chosen, whether circuits or switching need changing, and whether work must be done after hours.
